Bulk trash collection suspended in April – and again in May – BUT PUBLIC WORKS WILL OPEN AGAIN BEGINNING THIS SATURDAY!

UPDATE FOR 04/28/2020: CURBSIDE BULK TRASH COLLECTION IS SUSPENDED AGAIN FOR THE MONTH OF MAY BUT PUBLIC WORKS WILL OPEN AGAIN TO THE PUBLIC ON SATURDAY MORNINGS BEGINNING MAY 2ND, FROM 7:00 AM TO NOON.

Public Works will still collect the following items if placed at your curb for bulk trash collection on the first Monday of the month; the next pickup is scheduled for Monday, May 4th.

  • Tires (on or off rims)
  • Misc. metal items (not appliances!)
  • Pressure-treated wood (bundled and tied separately from regular wood)
  • Concrete (manageable-size pieces)

But Republic Services, our trash contractor, cannot pickup other bulk items as bulk trash is not considered an essential service by the Governor’s office.

WE ARE OPENING PUBLIC WORKS HOWEVER, TO ACCEPT YOUR BULK TRASH!

There are rules however!

  1. Only one vehicle load per day will be permitted.
  2. Palmyra residents only, who must sign in.
  3. Only 2 cars/trucks will be allowed in the facility at a time. Please wait in your car and wait your turn and follow the attendant’s instructions.
  4. AND FACE MASKS AND GLOVES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES!

For everyone’s safety, anyone not following these simple rules will be asked to leave and will not be permitted to return.

Thank you for your cooperation everyone!

Bulk Trash is normally collected curbside the first Monday of every month. While the collection of solid waste (regular trash that’s placed in green carts) and recycling are considered essential services by the Governor’s office and will continue as such, bulk trash collection is not. The amount of bulk being discarded by residents however, has burdened landfills and transfer stations, therefore bulk collection will have to be temporarily suspended.

Borough personnel will continue to collect:

  • Tires (on or off rims)
  • Metal items
  • Pressure-treated wood (bundled and tied separately from regular wood)
  • Concrete (manageable pieces)

Please store any and all other bulk trash including appliances on your property until collection service is restored.

Thank you for your cooperation.
