Borough Ordinances & Resolutions for August 2014.

This page is intended to give Borough residents an overview of official actions taken by the Governing Body during August 2014.  There were two meetings held this month; the Borough Council Caucus Meeting on Monday, August 4th and the Regular Borough Council Meeting on Monday, August 18th.

  • After Public Hearing the following Ordinance was Adopted.  Select link to see complete text.

Ordinance 2014-11: An Ordinance of the Borough of Palmyra Amending the sewer usage rates and connection fees.  This  Ordinance provides a reduction in fees for Senior citizens and provides for commercial/industrial fees to be based on water usage.  Please click HERE for more information.

  • The following Ordinance was Introduced.  Public Hearing is scheduled for September 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM.

Ordinance 2014-12: An Ordinance Amending Chapter 237, Article VI of the Code of the Borough of Palmyra Regarding sidewalks.  If adopted, this Ordinance will establish revised sidewalk maintenance responsibilities and guidelines.

  • Public Hearing of the following Ordinance was Continued to September 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM.

Ordinance 2014-10: An Ordinance mandating Direct Deposit for Borough employeesIf adopted, this Ordinance would require all Borough employees to utilize Direct Deposit in lieu of receiving a paycheck in accordance with new state guidelines.

  • The following Resolutions were Approved.  More routine matters were conducted as well.

Resolution 2014-165, awarding a contract to Wireless Communications & Electronics of West Berlin, NJ for the purchase of a Panasonic Arbitrator In-car Video Solutions system in the amount of $63,307.00.

Resolution 2014-166, authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with the Burlington County Freeholders for the acquisition of recycling carts.

Resolution 2014-172, adopting the Hazard Mitigation Plan as prepared by the Office of Emergency Management.

Resolution 2014-173, authorizing the Borough to enter into a cooperative purchasing agreement with the County of Burlington for various materials and services.

Resolution 2014-174, authorizing the sale of surplus property (vehicle).

Resolution 2014-175, identifying the Community Development Block Grant Housing Officer as Kareemah Press, at no increase in salary.

Resolution 2014-177 &178, approving a Grant Management Plan and Small Cities Application Grant for improvements to W. 2nd St.

Resolution 2014-181, appointing Tanyika Johns, Tax Collector, to full-time status at an annual salary of $63,000.00.
