Proposed Temple Boulevard Improvements
Special Public Meeting: 7:00 PM, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Palmyra Borough Hall
The Members of the Governing Body would like to provide residents of Temple Boulevard and neighboring streets, including the area at the confluence of Temple, Firth Lane, Leconey Circle and Second Street, with updated information on the road, student and pedestrian safety, drainage, and aesthetic improvements proposed for the neighborhood.
As you may be aware the Governing Body has been working on this project for over a year, which included a comprehensive evaluation of all existing conditions on Temple Boulevard and surrounding areas. The evaluation was performed by the Borough’s professional traffic and civil engineers in consultation with Borough officials and the Police and Fire Departments.
In addition, the Borough was awarded a Municipal Aid Grant from the state in the amount of $250,000 for the reconstruction of Temple Boulevard, and there are a number of additional grants the Borough is pursuing to offset the cost of this project, which is expected to approach $1,000,000. The Burlington County Bridge Commission is also expected to contribute funding for this project.
Given the magnitude of this project and the impact it will have on our community, Mayor Michelle Arnold and Borough Council wish to present all of this information and more during a special session of the Borough Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2018 beginning at 7:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Palmyra Borough Hall and is open to the public. All residents with an interest in this project are encouraged to attend.
