Tax Bills to be mailed August 1st – grace period extended to August 26th *
Tax Bills will soon be in the mail but are available now to view or pay online. Go to Pay Your Taxes Online or select the link to the left.
We’re often asked, where do my tax dollars go? Your Tax Bill will provide more information but here’s a simple chart explaining who’s spending your hard-earned money and how much of it they’re responsible for.
|Actual Percentage of Taxes Levied|
|Borough of Palmyra||32.0%|
|Palmyra School District||56.9%|
And here’s a chart explaining how much taxes were raised in 2019 over 2018. You can see that the Borough increased the Local Purpose Tax this year by $27 for the average homeowner or 1.49% over last year — the School District increased their tax levy by $51.21 or 1.6% over last year.
The total Tax Rate, which includes levies from the Borough, School District and Burlington County, is $3.879 per $100 of assessed valuation (to calculate your total tax for 2019 start with the assessed value of your property, divided by $100, then multiplied by the tax rate of $3.879).
By the way, Net Valuation as noted in the above link is the total value of all taxable real estate in the Borough! That’s the value of your house, plus the value of my house…
