The Borough is now collecting your old red recycling buckets!

Now that single stream recycling is under way and residents are getting comfortable using their large blue single stream cart, residents are asking what to do with their old red (and blue) recycling buckets?  Well, we have the answer!

This Wednesday, October 29th, which is regular Recycling Day, residents should place their old red (and blue) recycling buckets at the curb (empty or full is fine!) along with their blue single stream cart.  After the County collects the recyclables on Wednesday, Public Works will collect the empty old red (and blue) recycling buckets beginning Thursday!

After this week however, the county will begin ticketing residents for using the old red (and blue) recycling buckets!

Missed your chance to put your old red (and blue) recycling buckets at the curb?  No worries because you can always take your buckets to Public Works — at any time of the day or night — and simply leave them by the main gate.

Remember: you can load up your old red (and blue) recycling buckets with recyclables when placing them at the curb — the County will collect the recyclables during the regular Recycling Day, and we’ll pick up the empty buckets the next day!
