Town-wide Yard Sale; Saturday, October 3rd. Rain date; Sunday, October 4th
Due to COVID-19 Borough Council originally cancelled all Public Events until the Christmas holiday. But where there’s a will, there’s a way!
After several requests from residents, Borough Council scheduled Saturday, October 3rd for the Town-wide Yard Sale. But because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic there have to be changes to the program this year as advised by the Borough solicitor (lawyers!).
Because Council cannot encourage gatherings of people that might exceed recognized safety precautions or where they may not wear masks (the yard sale is on private property after all), nor should we direct treasure hunters to homes potentially having someone with the virus, we cannot accept addresses or print a Treasure Map for distribution this year.
BUT, we can waive the registration requirement and fee for anyone wanting to have a Yard Sale that weekend! SO, JUST DO IT!
AND, we can keep Public Works open until 5:00 PM that Saturday to accept any leftover junk — or treasure — that you just don’t want anymore. (It’s all a matter of perspective!)
So, Public Works will be open ALL DAY on Saturday, October 3rd — from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Borough’s Town Wide Yard Sale is just around the corner — the day Palmyra treasure hunters dream about all year long!
WHEN: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3rd – All Day!
RAIN DATE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4th – All Day!
WHERE: WHY YOUR HOUSE OF COURSE!
WHAT ELSE: DIDN’T SELL IT? THEN TAKE IT TO PUBLIC WORKS! PUBLIC WORKS WILL BE OPEN 7am TO 5pm on Saturday, October 3rd!
Please note that the Borough cannot advertise the town-wide event (other than here and on our Facebook page and e-signs) nor can we prepare treasure maps this year as indicated above. But we’re trying our best to accommodate our residents’ needs.
And please be mindful of your neighbors and do not leave large piles of left overs at the curb! Monday, October 5th is bulk day however!
