Winter Storm update, trash collection, snow plowing and Council Meeting for 2/1. TRASH CARTS TO BE COLLECTED BEGINNING WEDNESDAY!

Curbside trash collection to begin this Wednesday, February 3rd. Please be patient as our contractor will need several days to complete the pickup!

Trash carts only – bulk trash to be collected next Monday, February 8th!

Due to the declared state of emergency, bulk trash collection will be delayed one week until next Monday, February 8th. Residents are asked to remove bulk items from the curb until then if possible.

Regular curbside trash collection (green carts) scheduled for Tuesday pickup WILL NOT BE COLLECTED until at least Wednesday, February 3rd. Please check back here for the latest information.

While Borough offices are closed on Monday due to the storm, the Borough Council Caucus Meeting scheduled for this evening will still be conducted as a virtual meeting as originally expected.

Please be patient as our Public Works crews continue to clear and salt the roads; all personnel worked straight through from 4:00 PM on Sunday to 4:00 PM on Monday. Many roads were initially plowed down to asphalt but will now need more plowing of course!

Advisory: Winter Storm Warning until 04:00PM Tuesday

…SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM CONTINUES ACROSS THE REGION…

* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE…In New Jersey, Gloucester, Salem, Northwestern Burlington and Camden. In Delaware, New Castle.

* WHEN…Until 4 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The heaviest snow will end by late this evening. Periods of light snow accumulating snow will linger through Tuesday.

* AFFECTED AREAS: SALEM … NORTHWESTERN BURLINGTON … CAMDEN … NEW CASTLE … GLOUCESTER
