Borough Collects Trash In Riverfront! ANOTHER UPDATE: MEET THE CREW!

So who are those Caped Crusaders swooping in early Tuesday mornings and collecting your trash!

Let’s check out these handsome heros!

First, The Fearless Leader; Public Works Foreman Allan Berg!

Al has been with the Borough’s Public Works Department since 2018 and has proved himself to be one of our top performers. Al is also known as a very conscientious, professional and polite employee! An all-around nice guy, Al lives in Riverton with his wonderful wife and children and can often be found at the gym when not in work. Al’s a real asset to the team and as such was promoted to Foreman in December 2022. Since then, Al has been responsible for Public Works and many of our residents took notice and commented on the improvements they see around the Borough.

This is not Al’s first stint with the Borough however, as he was also a Court Security Officer for the Borough after retiring as a Sheriff’s Officer with the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department!

And to Al’s Batman, here’s Robin(s)!

Kidding, these guys are every bit as conscientious as Al. True professionals and experienced CDL Drivers!

Shawn is our primary refuse truck operator. He came to the Borough earlier this year from Waste Management where he collected refuse in the City of Camden. Shawn is a fun guy to be around with an over-the-top personality and brings a strong work ethic to this very important responsibility. Shawn is very, very knowledgeable about the inner workings of refuse collection and his experience is invaluable. Shawn even lives in Palmyra with his wife and children! He describes working for the Borough of Palmyra as a wonderful opportunity and looks forward to serving everyone in town. And we look forward to working with Shawn for a long, long time.

James is more the strong silent type but he’s no less conscientious about doing a great job for our residents. James’ background as a Class A CDL driver, the highest classification CDL license available, makes him an extremely valuable member of the team. And he’s very reliable (a trait becoming more and more difficult to find). James lives in Bellmawr, NJ and also came to the Borough earlier this year. And when asked about working in Palmyra he said…. um, did we mention that he’s the strong silent type? Think leading men Gary Cooper or Tom Hardy, lol. Seriously, James is a very nice, hard-working guy, who just gets the job done. Yeah, a little on the soft-spoken side but we’re very happy to have him.
