Installation of the new artificial turf for the Billy Carr Memorial Field is Complete! And it’s BEAU-TI-FUL!
THE FIELD IS NOW OPEN!
With a contribution of $600,000 from the Rt. 73 Redeveloper and a $100,000 state grant the cost to Palmyra taxpayers was $0.00 — with money to spare! The total cost came in at just over $400,000 leaving nearly $300,000 that will be used for youth athletic programs and recreational facilities.

Above is the $600,000 contribution received from the Rt. 73 redeveloper. The Borough also received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for the new artificial turf field in the amount of $100,000 for a grand total of $700,000 in funding!
The new field will be installed this summer at a cost of just about $400,000, however. The balance of the funds, approximately $300,000, will be used for youth athletic programs and recreational facilities.
