The Palmyra Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. Applicants must be 18 – 35 years of age and be NJ Police Training Commission Certified as a Municipal Police Officer, a SLEO II within their wavier period, or alternate route. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT TO THE CONSTRUCTION OFFICIAL/GENERAL OFFICE CLERK
BOROUGH OF PALMYRA, seeks a full-time Technical Assistant to the Construction Official (TA) and general office/scheduling clerk. The TA reports to the Construction Official and provides assistance in the issuance of construction permits to ensure compliance with the provisions of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. DCA Certified Technical Assistant highly preferred; may consider someone with relevant experience and able to obtain certification within 12 months. Knowledge of the provisions of the NJ UCC as it relates to the activities of the office required. Work includes extensive interaction with the public, scheduling inspections, collecting permit fees, data entry, and other duties as required for a busy office. Successful candidate must be computer literate and experienced in Microsoft Office and MC Systems. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
BOROUGH OF PALMYRA, is accepting applications for a part-time Code Enforcement Officer (CEO). The CEO is responsible for enforcement of property maintenance codes and related ordinances such as non-compliant conditions on private and public property including unsanitary or potentially dangerous conditions; accumulations of garbage and refuse; and unsightly conditions of property and structures. The CEO is also responsible for proper administration of the Borough’s vacant and abandoned property ordinances. Hours are 20 maximum per week, nights and weekends only. Duties include cleaning restrooms, mopping, disinfecting, trash removal, light maintenance and other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift 75 pounds, follow specific directions, handle cleaning chemicals, and have driver’s license and reliable transportation. Facilities responsible for include Concession Stand and park areas. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor. PUBLIC WORKS LABORER/DRIVER
The Borough of Palmyra is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Laborer/ Driver. Responsibilities include loading & unloading; cutting/mowing brush & grass; collecting bulk trash, brush, limbs & leaves; road repair; plowing/shoveling snow; and other duties as assigned. Must have the ability to operate handheld and driven motorized equipment in a safe manner. Employees are provided with all safety equipment as needed. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, and overtime as needed and during emergencies. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug test and criminal background check. Must have valid NJ Driver’s license with ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License and applicable endorsements within 6 months. Salary commensurate with experience.
