Labor Day is a federal holiday and falls on the first Monday of September every year. It was initially organized to celebrate labor unions and their contributions to the United States’ economy.

Labor Day is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.

Borough Hall will be closed as well.

The Borough’s Labor Day holiday schedule is as follows:

Regular trash will be collected on Tuesday, September 3rd – expect delays however!

Bulk trash collection is also scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd but will take an extra day or so to complete! Please be patient!

Recycling will be collected one day later than usual – on Thursday, September 5th.

Public Works will be open to accept trash and bulk items this Saturday, August 31st and next Saturday, September 7th from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM as normal and Wednesday evenings 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, (through October)

Borough offices will close all day on Monday, September 2nd in recognition of the holiday. There is no Borough Council Caucus Meeting (1st Monday of the month) scheduled for September.  The next Regular Borough Council Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 16th at 6:30 PM.
